Manage and Measure Your Mighty Programs
What do you do?
What is the impact or results of your daily tasks?
Your answers probably echo your nonprofit’s mission, reflecting the people, places, animals, or organizations that you help every day.
Every nonprofit needs a way to manage and measure its program work, and Nonprofit Cloud for Programs can help.
Nonprofit Cloud for Programs helps nonprofit organizations like yours define, plan, deliver, and track programs and the benefits they provide—while connecting the dots to make real-time decisions about how to improve your work. It’s an integrated Salesforce platform solution that provides insights, collaboration tools, and efficiencies designed to increase impact.
Nonprofit Cloud for Programs includes two feature sets.
First, program management tools to help you plan and deliver your programs. You can save time with streamlined ways to track participants and the benefits they receive, and see real-time information about your work.
Second, case management tools help drive program participant outcomes by giving your team the full context for each participant. If you work at a nonprofit that delivers individualized care and program plans, Nonprofit Cloud for Programs can help you deliver more personalized service even when your case managers work with many participants.
In this module, we give you a high-level overview of both feature sets.
Track Your Program Data
The first thing to understand about Nonprofit Cloud for Programs is how it tracks your data with Salesforce objects and records. Its structure for program data enables real-time insights into program performance.
Data tracking starts with the Person Account object, which stores information about your program participants. Each person account record is a Participant Profile, which gives you a unified view of how a participant has engaged with your programs to help you determine where they need more support.
You can group person accounts into households, families, neighborhoods, and more. We provide a quick overview here, and go deeper in other badges linked in the Resources section. For example, check out the Stakeholder Management in Nonprofit Cloud badge.
You track your programs with the Program object, which stores the thematic areas of your nonprofit organization's mission, such as math tutoring, housing, or pet adoption. You then connect your participants to a program with the Program Enrollment object. You can group program enrollments using the Program Cohort object to track participants in different program cycles, the same start date, or other operational groups.
The benefits you provide are related to your programs with the Benefit object. You can group benefits across programs with the Benefit Type object—for example, you can track all of your tutoring or financial support services. Participants, program enrollments, and benefits are connected with the Benefit Assignment object, which tracks how much of a particular benefit a participant should receive.
When a participant receives a benefit, you track when and how much of a benefit your organization delivered using the Benefit Disbursement object. You can plan disbursements—such as a scheduled workshop or a recurring class—with the Benefit Schedule object, then take attendance after each session.
If your organization creates personalized program plans for individuals or groups, you can use the Care Plan object to create and use templates for similar needs, then tailor each plan to a participant’s situation.
Deliver Your Programs and Benefits
You can improve how participants engage with your benefits with Nonprofit Cloud for Programs feature sets.
Guided flows consistently enroll participants in your programs. Adding assessment tools to those guided flows helps you streamline inbound referrals and intake processes to get program participants the right help at the right time.
You can set up schedules, view upcoming sessions, and then record attendance to reduce the time it takes to create benefit disbursements. Plus, you can record ad-hoc benefit disbursements to anonymous or unknown recipients. These features can reduce manual errors and get the job done in less time and with fewer clicks.
If you manage program plans for individuals, you can set personal or group goals, align programs, benefits, and tasks under each goal, and track progress toward goals using care plans. Plus, you can capture notes for each session with a participant. A complete view of your organization’s interactions with a program participant on their account record—their Participant Profile—can quickly prepare anyone on your team to work with a participant.
A helpful homepage in the Program Management app helps you quickly manage your daily tasks and get a snapshot of your programs, referrals, and progress toward your goals.
