Work with Multisite Assets

Learning Objectives

After completing this unit, you’ll be able to:

  • Navigate large asset lists quickly with Asset Viewer.
  • Locate assets created from a multisite order.
  • Outline the bulk-asset-change process with Asset Viewer.

Sophia is delighted to know that complex quotes and orders are about to get a whole lot easier. Now she’s wondering how Infiwave can keep track of the assets the customer has already ordered and which location has what products. This information could come in handy when pitching products and services in the future.

Once again, Sophia’s in luck! With Industries CPQ, she can work with long asset lists.

Asset Viewer

Accounts with many child accounts often have large, complex lists of assets that can be difficult to navigate. To help you manage assets, Industries CPQ gives you Asset Viewer. Asset Viewer lets you view, filter, and modify large asset lists on an account.

Click Asset Viewer (1) on the account to convert assets to orders or quotes and to change the assets.

View By menu in Asset Viewer

Use the View By feature (2) of the Asset Viewer to group assets by:

  • Name
  • Group type, such as service account or premises
  • Quantity
  • Charge, for example, a one-time charge or a recurring charge

Simple and Advanced Search

Asset Viewer includes a simple search and an advanced search. Use the simple search to find an asset using keywords and the advanced search to locate assets with specific attribute values.

Here’s an example of an advanced search from the training playground.

Advanced Search with rows of conditions and Add Row, Clear All, and Apply buttons

The search criteria specifies an asset name that includes “phone” and an install date after July 8, 2022.

To add more criteria, click Add Row, and to apply the search criteria to the asset list, click Apply.

Asset Filtering

The search and group features of Asset Viewer work together to provide a powerful tool for managing large asset lists for customers.

This screen shows search results by service account group.

Asset Viewer tab as described in copy.

The results include assets grouped by service account and filtered to show only those assets that cost less than $45 per month.

Click any asset name in Asset Viewer to see details like installation date and provisioning status.

Assets and Orders

As with single-site orders, when you submit a multisite order, the assets appear on the group member account. Assets on child accounts, such as subscriber accounts or service accounts, roll up to the parent account. You can view or amend these assets in the Related tab or Asset Viewer tab of the parent account record.

Asset Changes

Asset Viewer makes it easy to manage assets across multiple sites.

Want to see Asset Viewer in action? Watch this demonstration to see bulk asset changes using Asset Viewer.

Notice that during each step in the process, you can return to the previous step to make amendments.

Let’s recap the steps of using the bulk change process in Asset Viewer.

  1. Choose a single asset or one or more groups of assets.
  2. From the Select an Action menu, choose to bulk update or delete the assets.
  3. If required, create a quote for the customer outlining any price amendments and change fees.
  4. Create and submit an order to implement the changes. A guided process launches to ensure you’ve included all the required information.

Assets and Child Accounts

The parent account displays all the assets of its child accounts. To view the assets for specific child accounts, such as service accounts, premises, or services points, group by the account type in Asset Viewer on the parent account. You can also open the child account from the account hierarchy on the parent account to view only those assets, quotes, and orders, associated with the child account.

Sophia now has a good grasp on the Industries CPQ workflow for creating multisite quotes and orders. With this enhanced selling capability, she and the sales team can simplify and accelerate the processing of complex orders for even their biggest customers, and take their sales numbers to new heights.

What will Sophia do with all this extra time? Make more sales, of course! And perhaps perfect her fidget spinning along the way.
