Created by in Vf page

How do I add the Created By field for a Case Visual Force page? I tried using:

<apex:outputfield value="{!Case.CreatedBy}" />

This gave me an error message saying: Expression value does not resolve to a field

Error is in expression '{!Case.CreatedBy}' in component <apex:outputField> in page perpageview

Should I use something different?
