How do you change multiple record info to reflect updated picklist values?

We created thousands of records containing a picklist field and recently changed the wording on one of the picklist choices. How do we go back and change all the old values to the new value at one time?

    Hi Peter, 

     

    You can do that within Salesforce... 

     

    1. Create the new value in the picklist

     

    2. Click on delete next to the value you would like to replace

     

    3. A new window will open > You will be able to replace this value with the value created in step #1.
