I am hoping to prevent users assigned to a certain profile from editing records that they did not create. I've tried so many different validation formulas in an attempt to do this and none of them are working. Any ideas?

I would amend it with a NOT(ISNEW())
AND(
NOT(ISNEW()),
$Profile.Name = "Blocked Profile",
$User.Id <> CreatedById)
