We are in advertising and receive ad files that need to be forwarded to someone outside of our org; oftentimes these emails come in when the salesperson does not have their laptop turned on and connected to the internet – usually because they’re traveling. Not only does the attachment have to get to someone not in our org, it has to get to that person as soon as possible, it has to be received in perfect condition, and the file is too large for their email system to receive. So, logically, using Salesforce1 and Share Via Link is the way to get it to them (as opposed to interrupting their travel to find a wifi hotspot, boot up the laptop and then use Files Sync to do the Share via Link). In testing this via Salesforce1, we’ve run into a problem.
• Using Salesforce1 on his iPhone, he opened the email with the 8.4MB attachment
• He downloaded the attachment
• He copied the link and pasted it into an email that he sent to me (I’m uncertain exactly what he did to create the SFDC link within Salesforce1)
• I clicked on the link in the email and the attachment opened up in my browser (firefox)
• Problem… about half of the advertisement did not display
o Same thing happened opening the link in Chrome and IE
Any suggestions? I logged into SFDC as this user and the file that he downloaded is there – shown exactly as I received it. And we know that’s not what it actually looks like. As I said, we’re testing this before rolling it out to everyone (at company meeting on Tuesday) and we used an email that had been handled earlier in the week while he was here in the office and able to use his laptop to successfully get the attachment to the outside person.
