  • Describe the available export options.

Share and Export Pivot Tables

Once you create and customize your pivot tables, you’re ready to export and share them with your colleagues. Sharing your customized and validated data is an important part of the process, and ensures transparency. There are several ways to share and export your data. In this module we cover the various options so you can choose the best option for your needs.

Let’s catch up with Pia as she locates and exports her pivot tables to share them with the rest of the NTO team.

Pia can find all of her Marketing Cloud Intelligence pivot tables in the pivot table list by navigating to the Analyze & Act tab, then Pivot Tables. Here she can edit, duplicate, delete, and copy existing pivot tables. To export the pivot table Pia can select the pivot table she wants and click Edit and from within the pivot table she can click Export.

There are several export methods available to Pia when she clicks Export.

Pivot Table Export Options, including Create Widget, Schedule Export, and Export.

Create Widget (1): This option allows you to create a pivot table widget in a dashboard page of your choosing (1). Here’s an example of how to export your widget to a workspace and page that already exists. In the dropdown, Pia searched for the workspace she wanted, in our case Vis Automation - Widgets Sanity - Bubble Chart (1), and then she selected the dashboard page, Scatter Plot (2).

After you save the pivot table as a widget, you can navigate to the selected page and see the widget you added.

  • Schedule Export(2): This option allows you to export the pivot table into a report. There are two reporting options to choose from:
    • Pivot Table (Excel): Export the pivot table via a report in an Excel pivot table format.
    • Flat Table: Export the results in a report, displaying the results as a flat table with all of the query's fields as separate columns. We cover reports in more detail in the next unit.
  • Export(3): This option also has two choices available:
    • Pivot Table (as-is): Export your pivot table to an Excel file in the form of a pivot table, showing the same view as in Marketing Cloud Intelligence.
    • Flat Table: Display the results as a flat table with all of the query’s fields as separate columns.
