Verification challenge for "Create a Partner Portal, Enable Partner Account and Users, and Add Members"

I'm having a verification issue similar to this post: https://trailhead.salesforce.com/trailblazer-community/feed/0D54V00007I6HVQSA3

 

 

Despite double checking that the accounts are org partners I keep receiving the following error when I click "Verify step" it shows the following error: 

 

"Step not yet complete in Experience Cloud playground

Couldn’t find the following users in the org as partners with the Partner Community license and Partner Community User profile: Sean Forbes, Rose Gonzalez, Babara Levy, Josh Davis."

 

I also double checked and Enable Digital Experiences

is enabled. 

 

What might I have missed?
