#SMS0 discussing

Hello all, my nonprofit is evaluating SMS options since we do a lot of texting directly from phones to clients. We've looked at SMS Magic and Mogli so far, and both seem fine for the most part. What we are missing is the group messaging, which neither company can do. As far as I can tell, group messaging isn't possible with ANY texting solution. Does anyone have experience with tool that can do group messaging?

To be extra clear, I'm talking about MMS style messaging where (for example) a parent, their child, and us are all in the same text chain together. Not talking about bulk messaging, which both providers can do.

Many thanks in advance! #SMS

Great question! Group/MMS-style texting where all participants are in the same conversation is

hard to find in typical SMS tools. Most tools focus on bulk or one-to-many messaging, not real chat threads.

If anyone is looking for a solution that brings true group messaging (similar to MMS) plus deep CRM integration, definitely check out 360 SMS App

    — it supports WhatsApp-style messaging inside Salesforce and makes managing conversations with multiple parties much easier.

For nonprofits especially, having that shared thread between staff + clients + families can be a game-changer for communication workflows.

Hello!

I need to setup a Journey that sends a SMS asking the customer to rate the product from 1 to 10 and store the answer in a Data Extension.

If they reply, another SMS is sent asking to explain why they gave this rate. I need to store this comment in a Data Extension as well.

No landing pages involved. The customer will reply the SMS.

Could anyone help me and explain which path would you take?

Thanking you in advance

Marketing Cloud SMS Tip for Australian Audiences 🇦🇺

Something I recently learned that might save others a headache…

If you're sending SMS messages via Salesforce Marketing Cloud (Marketing Cloud Engagement) and using From Names (Sender IDs) for your Australian contacts, you must

have those Sender IDs registered.

💡 Here’s the catch:

You’ll need to reach out to your

Account Executive and request the form titled “Third Party Authority to use Sender ID(s)”.

 - Your AE will oversee the provisioning

 - It’s free of charge.

  - And if you don’t do it, your SMS messages might show as coming from

‘Unverified’

—not a great look for brand trust!

Hope this helps someone avoid confusion or deliverability issues. Always something new to learn in the world of Marketing Cloud!

Hi

looking to see if anyone has faced this issue before. We are facing this limit issue with our Opt-In message.

SMS long code has a limit of 912 characters, but if special characters are introduced, the limit decreases to 396 characters.  Besides changing the content to meet the character limit, are there any other ways around avoiding these limits?

Does anyone have any advice to shorten a dynamic link in an SMS by avoiding :

  • sending an email before to the contact (the contact will not be present in the all subscriber list when sending the SMS)
  • using any paid version (from Bitly or other partners)

Thanks!

We have created a Native Salesforce solution for URL Shortener which is available on Salesforce AppExchange (Shortify).

This is a Native solution, So no need for any 3rd party service integration. You can create short URLs from GUI as well as using APEX code.

Currently we support Salesforce Campaign, Salesforce Report, CSV upload as a data source to generate short URLs and you can also create easy to remember short URLs as http://cfsu.in/appexchange (this short URL is for our Salesforce AppExchange listing page [https://appexchange.salesforce.com/listingDetail?listingId=a0N4V00000DYIP9UAP]   generated from Shortify Solution).

How to send SMS messages from Salesforce that really work?

I know that mostly all the marketers think SMS as a communication channel is useless. But its open rate is up to 99%! For me, it was also a huge surprise. I want to share with you:

1. An article about possible ways of SMS messaging from Salesforce with best practices

2. Here's a material how to select the ideal type of number for your business

3. A guide how to customize auto-responses

Maybe this info won't be new, but sometimes it's so nice to get one reply to all the questions without collecting too many tabs in the browser.

Hello FSL Trailblazers,

We just published a new app on AppExchange to help you setting up Einstein Bot, Messaging and FSL to offer appointment booking via SMS to your customers!

You can now find Rider on the AppExchangehttps://appexchange.salesforce.com/appxListingDetail?listingId=a0N3A00000FMdIiUAL

Using nearly only configuration, this package will help you to understand better how to use Einstein Bot, Messaging & FSL to offer Appointment Booking via SMS amongst other things. You just need to install it, tweak a few small items and should be good to go if you have the right license of course.

Let us know what you think!

Hi @Gary Brandeleer and @* Salesforce Field Service *

In the documentation for Rider installation, it specifies that we need to utilise Work Types to "Ensure these work types auto-generate Service Appointments."  (Link to documentation here: https://quip.com/UV0NAhYfu6aw)

In the org in which we would like to explore Rider Bot, we are not creating Service Appointments through the "Auto-Create Service Appointment" checkbox, but instead using a Flow to create our Service Appointments and assign necessary values.

Would we still be able to use Rider in this scenario? Or do we need to configure our Service Appointments creation to be done via Work Types?

Many thanks in advance for your help!

SMS and Chatbots.  We've built a chatbot to engage with customers via SMS.  This is prompted by a Process Builder sending a Messaging Template to the customer, the customer responds and we're expecting the Chatbot to pick up on the response.  I've had this working in a Dev Edition, but now I cannot replicate in a different org.  What we know: we know we can send out SMS, but the response doesn’t get picked up by the Chatbot.
