#Currency1 discussing

How do I set a default currency type for each record type? When I go into the field and edit, it doesn't look like currency options. And when I go to the record type, the field doesn't appear.

Thanks!

The settings under 'Language & Time Zone' my profile does not show currency. The funny thing is when I changed it to HKD the change take effect immediately. Is there something I am missing? Can anyone help me out please. #Salesforce Admin #currency

I think you need to Activate Multiple Currencies before you can see "Manage Currencies".

    Try this:

In Setup, enter Company Information in the Quick Find box select Company Information and click Edit. Ensure that your selected currency locale is the default currency that you want to use for current and future records. Enable Activate Multiple Currencies, and then save your changes. Then you should see the option you're looking for.

    Hope it helps.

Currently I can only display in the original input currency and one other currency of selection. I want to be able to show the converted currency in both GBP and USD separately. So for example if the currency was in EUR or CNY, I can see it converted in GBP and USD - is this possible by creating a new field?   #Reports & Dashboards #Currency #Currency Field

    Hi Alex,

This article would give more information, you can change the currency on the report but unfortunately, it won't show up in both currencies.

My company has multiple currencies but it looks like Salesforce only allows us to designate one as our “Corporate Currency”.

We need to be able to record and use the exchange rate of all of these currencies to each other but the Dated Exchange Rate system native to Salesforce seems to only allow for currencies to convert into the “Corporate Currency”

For Example, we need to record all of the following an

#Sales Cloud use them in our Opportunities.

GBP to USD (this we can currently do with “Corporate currency” being set to USD)

GBP to EUR

CHF to GBP

Do you need a customized solution on this?

If yes then may be go for calling out the API for any exchange rate sites via apex and then use the data to get converted value of your mentioned currency to any other.

Hello, we have multi-currencies enabled, and previously had CAD listed as Corporate Currency. Now we've changed to USD, and added the appropriate rates for conversion, however it still showing backwards (showing CAD as primary, when we've changed to USD). Any Suggestions?

Alternatively, I've updated or product records to reflect USD, but I can't change the price book entries as it won't allow me to add 'USD' to the Currency Code pick-list - thoughts?

Will I have to remove and re-add my opt. products?

Thank you!!

My organization has multiple currencies enabled, and I am able to designate the currency for a given Opportunity or Custom Object. The currency I choose applies to the entire record. Is it possible to have multiple currencies in one Custom Object? Can I set up certain fields or formulas that will allow me to have a different currency for the designated field than the page's overall currency ? Or is having one currency per record my only option?

Yes but even with Multi Currency the latest exchange rate is only applied to Open Opportunities so historic records in the target currency won't update either.

Hi All,

I have a business process that requires us to use the Currency Management table exchange rates for all opportunities that are at a "Pre-Tender" stage, but as soon as we submit a tender we need to be able to enter a fixed exchange rate (Tender_Exchange_Rate__c) and have the Opportunity value (which is a currency field) to use the Tender_Exchange_Rate__c field rather than the currency management table.

I am at a complete loose end with this one and would really appreciate some help.

Thanks, Warren

    Hi Warren,

There is no out of the box feature to achieve that. Opportunities use either fixed or dated exchange rates based on your currencies setup.

My question is: to which currency should the amount be converted using your custom exchange rate ? The thing about fixed and dated exchange rates is that the conversion is dynamically performed to the user's currency or a specific currency in a report. In your case the logic cannot work the same way.
