#Calendars0 discussing

I would like to add Organizer Name, # of Volunteers, and # of Volunteers still needed to the V4S shift calendar.

Is this possible?

    # of volunteers and # of volunteers still needed is possible using parameters (see the Setup Guide). Organizer Name doesn't have a specific parameter, but could you put it in the Shift Description?

Hi there, my organization has successfully installed the Salesforce for Outlook add-in and it has been very beneficial in terms of tracking Contacts, Leads, etc. that can be found in SF and Outlook.

My question is whether or not it is possible to sync the Outlook and SF calendars, i.e. create a New Task for a Lead in SF and then have it show in my Outlook calendar?

Thanks!

Does anyone know if it is possible to create an event (appointment) in Salesforce from a calendar appointment in MS Outlook but not by linking on Outlook Contact = Salesforce Contact, but rather by identifying the contact name in the Outlook Appointment/meeting subject heading field?

Situation = Contacts wont be synced. Contacts stored only in Salesforce.

Would like to Sync calendars though so an appointment in Outlook will show up in Salesforce. I believe this will be possible but it wont be associated with any salesforce contact record.

The ideal situation would be to associate it with a salesforce contact though, by identifying a key term in the Appointment subject like "Appointment with:" then knowing the character that follow are the contact's name.

This is unconventional sync so it would require unconventional process (code) identify the client names in the appointments and then would update the event with the Contact.ID so it would link the newly imported appointment event to a contact in Salesforce so it would so up against their record.

Has anyone worked with a situation like this?

Any advice as always is much appreciated.

Hi Ceaser - so sorry for the late response to your reply. I actually was able to work it out by using Process Builder + visual flow and outlook appointments now come into our Salesforce as events which triggers my process which parses the client name + event type from the subject field. The Events show up on the clients. It is not a 100% success though as I am getting lots of flow errors, and I have been unable to determine the exact cause of the error.

The outcome is good, I just need to stop these flow error emails.

    Cheers

@Anna Waugh, we have an add-on product to V4S called the V4S Mobile that allows both a Kiosk and a Roster for attendance tracking. It's on the AppExchange. DM me if you want more details.
