Salesforce.org Elevate

Salesforce.org Elevate is a suite of products that helps nonprofit and educational institutions grow support and maximize impact. Elevate encompasses Salesforce.org Payment Services and Giving Pages that integrate into Salesforce. It motivates donors and alumni while streamlining payments, CRM, and accounting. See Group Information below for resources.

A client is trying to get started with Elevate. We are helping with the connector and Salesforce configuration. But they need to set up their Elevate account through the Power of Us program. (They already have their 10 licenses granted.) Could someone point me to instructions for that? Please see attached screenshot - they are being prompted to install NPSP. NPSP is already installed. But they went ahead and told it to install. But they are still being prompted to install NPSP.  Thanks for any help.

Where do you look to find out why Elevate transactions that are successful are not creating opportunities in SF? When we click on the payment (listed as successful in Elevate) and then click on the 'View in Salesforce' button in the upper right, we are getting an error that the transaction cannot be found - which is correct, there is not transaction created in SF that we can find. Any suggestions as to what may be going on or how to locate these transactions with their errors so we can debug?

Thanks!

Hi @Dawn Blaney, we would never expect a donation to not be present in Salesforce unless it was created and then manually deleted. Could you please open a case with customer support, we would like to get to the bottom of this. First thing to do would be to check the Data Import object for any errors creating the opportunity records. Customer Support can guide you through this process.

Hello, I am a first time user with Elevate. I tried to find videos on how to refund but it's been hard to find

For my client, if we're not seeing the Refund button, should it be there on the payment?

If you do refund through the button, does it execute the refund through Stripe as well? If so, is it only full or partial amounts?

If you just went directly to $0 out a payment, will that initiate a refund in Stripe?\

Hi @Vilmarie P -- Thanks for using Elevate! Welcome aboard.

    To refund a payment:

    1. Go to the Payments Management page and find the payment you want to refund.
    2. Click on that payment, which will open the Payments Detail page.
    3. Click on the Actions menu on the upper-right side of the page.
    4. Select Refund.

The refunds are processed through your payment gateway (e.g. Stipe). As of this writing we only support full refunds, but partial refunds are coming soon.

Say the word if you have any other questions.

With Elevate's impending end of life, we decided to go ahead and decommission it in our environment. But before we uninstall it in Salesforce, we want to make sure we stop any existing recurring series donations. Is there a way to disconnect Elevate form the Payment gateway, which in our case is iATS? Or, is there a way in Elevate to pause/stop all recurring schedules in Elevate? We don't want to change their status in Salesforce as we plan to continue processing them with another Salesforce native payment solution going forward.

Hello! Our client's donations through Elevate are not making their way into Salesforce. When we log into Elevate it says "There's an issue with your Salesforce integration. See details on the integration page." On that page, I see this https://www.screencast.com/t/2ZBJQh5q. We are good on prereqs so I thought it would be best to disconnect, then reconnect the integration. But when we try to disconnect, we get an "Error disconnecting Salesforce" popup https://www.screencast.com/t/mez84cgeDg. Amy recommendations to get past this? Thanks!

Hi @Leland McKeithan No, not yet. We have not been successful with Support on similar issues so we thought we'd reach out to the community first. But we'll be creating a support ticket shortly. And will report back here if it gets solved. Thanks!

Hi Team,

When I initially make a monthly recurring donation via the Elevate Giving page, at that time, a recurring donation record will be created in Salesforce, and the first installment opportunity will be in the closed stage. Then, in the next month, an opportunity record will be created in the pledged state.

My question is: Will the payment for the next installment opportunity be automatically charged to the credit card I used to pay for my first installment? Is that correct?

I would like to understand how Elevate handles the management of upcoming payment installments for recurring donations.

Please help me gain better clarity on this.

@Manjula Rajaram - yes recurring donations will be processed using the same card. We're still learning, but just to be clear, Elevate is sending the info to the processor (in our case, Stripe.) We have learned that it's best to do adjustments to recurring donations (alter/cancel) within Salesforce. We haven't tried to update a card yet, but it looks like there is a feature under "Edit"?

Also let me encourage you to use the Admin User guide. I know that can sometimes be like wading through a vast sea, but in this case we've found the documentation really does answer our questions.

(Also, just in case you aren't aware, they are retiring Elevate next October I believe...shame, I know it's not perfect for all, but it works well for us!)

The Future of Elevate

This is a difficult message, but we want to let this community know about this decision as soon as it was taken. After careful consideration, we have made the decision to retire the Elevate product. As of today, we are ending new sales for all versions of Elevate, including Elevate Advanced and the Elevate Power of Us Edition. Before mentioning anything else, we want to say “thank you“ to our community of customers, as well as our implementation partners, who have been blazing trails and have made such contributions to the evolution of the product. We are grateful for the support you’ve shown us, and we are sorry to come to you now with this surprising news.

This is the first step in a planning cycle, and we will share more information on timelines as soon as we are able. We have not yet defined end-of-life date/product retirement dates. Our guiding principles for product retirements are to honor the full life of all customer contracts, to continue strong customer support, to ensure that customers are able to migrate onto alternate solutions, and to prevent any data or donation losses for customers.

As part of Salesforce’s annual product review process, we make hard decisions about product investments and prioritize innovation across our portfolio to drive the greatest impact for nonprofit customers. As we evaluated the current and future Elevate roadmap, it became clear that we could not deliver the payments vision that we desired with our available resources. Rather than maintain a product with a limited future innovation envelope, we’ve chosen to wind the product down in a measured fashion and focus on moving customers to partner solutions that we are confident will be well-supported in the future. This allows us to maintain the strongest focus on our nonprofit business, on products with large and growing user bases, like the Nonprofit Cloud and the Nonprofit Success Pack.

We know that this news will be disappointing for some of you, and we want to assure you that we are committed to providing the best possible support during this transition. We are maintaining product support and maintenance features for the remaining life of the product, and we will be providing alternate solution recommendations and opportunities for customers to evaluate and migrate to outside solutions.

Please don’t hesitate to connect with us in this group, or through your account executive or customer support resources, with any questions or comments as we go through this process.

Hi @Ben Rosenthal - Sorry to hear your team is getting caught up in the Elevate product sunset.  That is painful news to receive as a customer.  We at Chargent are focused 100% on Salesforce payments, supporting one-time and recurring credit/debit card and/or ACH payments/donations.  Fun fact, one of our largest segments of customers is Nonprofit Organizations.  We are happy to discuss what Chargent can offer and what the transition process looks like.  Give me a shout if you'd like to chat!  bret@appfrontier.com
