Webinar: A Reality Check on Agentforce Nonprofit: What It Is, What It's Not, and How It Actually Works - July 15

In this live 1-hour webinar, we’ll take a practical look at how Agentforce for Nonprofits can support the day-to-day work of your team. Moving away from the “all-or-nothing” software pitch, we’ll walk through a functional day in the life of a nonprofit — following how information and activity naturally flow across development, programs, and operations.

Hosted by @Alexandra Grace & @Tara Pawlowski

About the Session

Our goal is to show you how to leverage a modern data model to create a system that is sophisticated enough to scale, yet simple enough for your team to use today.

What We Will Cover:

  • The "Life of a Record" Walkthrough: Follow the dollar as it moves through Development, Programs, and Operations. We’ll show how Agentforce for Nonprofits helps ensure that the right information is visible to the right people at the right time.
  • Demystifying the Data Model: We’ll break down how to think about structuring your data in a way that reflects how your team already works—helping reduce manual entry, teeing up reporting, and making collaboration easier across departments.
  • The MVP Approach to Getting Started: Learn the “Start Small, Grow Over Time” philosophy. We’ll talk through how to begin with just what you need today —avoiding "system bloat"— while ensuring the foundation is ready for future growth.
  • Evolving Your Processes Over Time: Once the basics are in place, we’ll “show off” how to layer in additional capabilities at your own pace. See how AI-powered agents, outreach tools, and grantmaking support can lighten your team’s workload and free up time for what matters most.

Key Takeaways:

  • Practical ways to keep your system simple, organized, and usable for your team
  • A clearer framework for connecting your day-to-day processes across departments
  • Ideas for gradually introducing automation without overwhelming staff

Designed for:

Operations leaders, data managers, and mission-driven teams who are looking for a more connected and manageable way to support their work.

Format:

  • 20 mins: Walkthrough of a “day in the life” data model and process workflows using Agentforce for Nonprofits
  • 20 mins: Getting started with an MVP approach
  • 20 mins: The "Bells & Whistles": Advanced AI and extended capabilities showcase

New Case Study: Out Teach Leverages Salesforce Managed Services

Out Teach, a nonprofit based in Washington, DC, works with teachers in schools across the country to transform the outdoors into active learning labs that unlock the wonder of science for students.

The Salesforce platform is the core tool for the entire organization. Although the team was familiar with the maintenance and care required for the system as a whole, they had reached a point within the organization where additional support for their in-house admin and guidance around how to grow and evolve their CRM was needed.

Read the full case study to learn how they leveraged Salesforce Managed Services for both Admin and Strategic Governance support.

NEW DATES! Prepare for Phishing-Resistant MFA Enforcement for Privileged Users including Admins

I am sharing for visibility - see the full article for more info -

When This Change Takes Effect

  • Sandbox: Enforcement started on July 6, 2026 (moved from June 22).
  • Production: Enforcement now scheduled to start July 20, 2026 (moved from July 1).

Remind me, what’s Changing?

Salesforce is enforcing phishing-resistant Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for all users with the System Administrator profile, Modify All Data, View All Data, Customize Application, or Author Apex permissions). This applies to direct UI logins and Single-Sign-On (SSO) logins, across both production and sandbox orgs.

New Blog Post: How Defining Your CRM’s Purpose Strengthens Decision-Making and Impact

Does your organization simply have a CRM where data is stored, or do you have a true database of record that streamlines workflows and serves as a reliable business intelligence tool?

Wherever your organization falls on that spectrum, one thing is clear: defining the purpose of your CRM is essential to ensuring it functions as a strategic tool that supports day-to-day operations while advancing your organization’s mission and impact.

Defining the purpose of your CRM can help transform it from a simple data repository to a strategic tool that drives engagement, supports decision-making and advances mission impact. With the help of an impact statement, organizations have in place documentation that clarifies how the CRM can be leveraged as a tool to align leadership, empower staff, and ensure the ongoing investment and evolution of the system, in service of broader strategic goals.

I was asked to present in my local nonprofit group... of course, I said yes (you should, too)! Things in the SF admin world are so tumultuous and pressured that last couple of years (every discussion group and survey shows admin are stressing about the fast pace of change and growth in scope of the admin role). I felt that a 15-year perspective on things that I've gotten to implement that have stuck and had lasting value. And there is one speculative area (about.... AI, of course) at the end, but even that for me is the fruit of 18 months of off and on again experimentation and work, so I think it's proving value, too.

Anyway... here are the slides in Canva. You can comment there. And here is the video on youtube, where you can also comment.

Slides: https://canva.link/zynyzt86hxom35t (somebody open and comment so I know it works)

Video:  https://youtu.be/nW2m-ElLn1w (somebody open and comment so I know the link works, sound is there, etc)

Topics: 15 years of standing the test of time

  • NPSP
  • Anonymizing Clients (Core)
  • Taking CRM to the Streets (mobile)
  • Story Bank / Publishing (core)
  • Event container (my version of PMM built before PMM)
  • Self-service (Experience Cloud)
  • Inventory (core)
  • Activating Teamwork (core + NPSP Engagement Plans)
  • AI workloads in the cloud (my 18 month output)

It's a bit humbling to see 15 years of hard work reduced to these handful of points, but they are highly valuable to the ministry and our constituents and have stood the test of time (except the last one, of course... we'll see, but it's broken even easily in the last 3 months so very promising).

I have promised to do a recorded "screenside" or maybe "poolside" chat in July about my 18 months of AI discovery and implementation, hosted by one or two inquiring Trailblazers.

A bit about how I made this presentation: AI (NotebookLM) constructed the timeline and features in conversation with me grounded in our unstructured implementation documents (a few hundred pages of google docs).  I focused on things that lasted, no detours, no "upgrades" just the working good stuff that added value for the team and our constituents. I then asked AI to make slides (NobeookLM) with some prompting and revision. Then I exported them to Canva where I added the screen shots and hid text that I didn't agree with or think needed to be there. It's not perfect, but it's far better than I would have done unaided.

Hint: start writing down every little project you take on in SF. The data you collect is a goldmine. You can keep is simple: Title/date, user story bullets (what does the end user expect to happen or get better), implementation plans or idea bullets, testing method bullets, screen shots of the key pieces. Nothing more is needed to have a goldmine treasure chest in a year or so! I don't look around my org anymore when I need to pinpoint where something is or when I did it. I ask my documents, "What's the name of that flow I build to xxx? When did I do that? What's the major history of changes?" Then I go to work a bit more informed, memory refreshed, and make a new entry when I get it done! It could be structured data, but why bother.
