Apsona for Salesforce

There's been some buzz around the new security changes for Salesforce reports and dashboards. Will Apsona be adopting any of those requirements? I'm trying to prepare my team and our userbase if there will be a requirement to use MFA to access their Apsona reports just like with Salesforce reports.

    Hi @Frances Barrera

     

    Based on our current understanding, these Salesforce security changes should not have a direct impact on Apsona reports and dashboards. Apsona operates within Salesforce and respects Salesforce authentication, permissions, and security controls. If Salesforce requires additional authentication (such as MFA or session re-verification), users will need to complete that verification within Salesforce. Once the Salesforce session is authenticated, Apsona should continue to function normally. 

     

    Apsona does not rely on Salesforce's Reports and Dashboards APIs to display report data, so the upcoming changes targeting those APIs are not expected to affect Apsona reporting functionality. 

     

    For scheduled jobs that use OAuth authorization, re-authentication may be required only if Salesforce invalidates or expires the associated authorization token.

    Since Step-up Authentication and related security policies are managed entirely by Salesforce, we recommend confirming any specific authentication requirements with Salesforce directly.

Not specifically Apsona related but figured I'd start here. I send our donors thank you emails via Apsona with the send email through Gmail connection. I recently had to change my Gmail password and this process no longer works. I keep digging around but cannot find a way to reconnect/re-authenticate this process. The error I get when attempting to send email in Apsona is : Email External Transport Token Error. I'm quite sure this has to do with the password change but am not sure how to fix it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks for the response. Unfortunately, this isn't working for me. I have tried going to my settings - email - my email settings - and when I toggle Send through Gmail off and wait then toggle it back on, I am not getting any prompt to re authenticate or login again. We do not use Einstein so that option won't work as well.

We do not have multi-step reporting. I need a report that I can build in SF that will replace the Apsona Batch report. I need to have one row per batch entry with corresponding gau allocation. In the case of multiple allocations on the same opportunity I need the details in the report, not a concatenated field. I also need the batch details that are already included in the batch report. Is this possible?

    Hi Wendy, 

     

    Apsona's Multi-Step Reporting is typically used for reporting across complex relationships such as Opportunities and GAU Allocations. Without Multi-Step Reporting, this can be challenging to replicate using standard Salesforce reporting.

    That said, it may be possible to achieve your requirement using a Salesforce Custom Report Type. You could create a report type based on Opportunities and GAU Allocations, then include the necessary Batch fields via related lookups.

    Because the report is built at the GAU Allocation level, each allocation would appear as a separate row, allowing you to see multiple allocations for the same Opportunity without concatenating the values.

    Since this would be configured entirely within Salesforce, we recommend reviewing Salesforce documentation or consulting your Salesforce administrator to confirm the available reporting options in your org.

Does someone with the generic Apsona for Salesforce license have access to a mail merge setup as a button? Is there permissions guide available?

I am looking to create a lapse donor report for our development team. I am close, but the cross filters aren't applying as well as I thought. I am getting the same person multiple times, and definitely have donors who aren't "lapsed" appearing in the report. Any ideas?

    What we usually do for those sorts of things is use the metric fields in Apsona to get multiple columns with totals by FY for however many FYs you need, and then use calculated fields to create flags (lapsed is something like: if current FY is 0 and prior FY > 0  then true)

Hello-- I have multiple report processes that when merged.. create a letter (and sometimes a report after) Lately, my templates are producing a document with no page break between each letter... when i try to add a page break to the template of course.. it adds an extra page to the template. 

Is there somethign I"m missing to ensure the  output does in deed have the page breaks in it between letters?

    We had the same issue, but the bug fix resolved it.

We had a View-Only user report that they are no longer seeing the 'Direct Link' option after running a report. I logged in as them, cleared caches, and I still wasn't seeing the 'Direct Link' visible where it used to be. However, I able able to see it as an admin/Standard user, just not as the View-Only user.  

 

Has that feature been moved or removed from Apsona? View-Only users used to have it as an option.

    - I was hoping for something more specific within Apsona. The user isn't seeing the 'Direct Link' option, when they used to be able to click the link after running the report. It's not longer visible to them as a View-Only Apsona user.

Hi All,  

 

We are running an audit of all of our Apsona reports, merge actions, etc. I'd like to create a report that will show me the Last Run Date so that we can determine if this is a report worth keeping or deleting from the system. Is this possible for Apsona single and multi-step reports?  

 

Any help would be much appreciated!

We are setting up a document merge to create stewardship letters. We want the merge action to include creating an activity and logging it to the account. We easily have this set up, but can we:

  1. populate custom fields on the activity? We have a custom field on activity for "Stage" and we'd like all in this action to populate with "Stewardship"
  2. log the text of the Word document to the "comments" field on the activity? Or, add the word document as a file on the activity?

    Hi, 

     

    Out of the box the merge action creates the activity but doesn’t let you control custom fields or push document content into Comments. 

     

    For your Stage field, the usual fix is a Flow that runs after the activity is created and sets Stage = Stewardship based on some condition (like subject or source). 

     

    For the document, you can’t reliably store the Word content in Comments, but you can save it as a File and relate it to the record. That’s the standard approach.

I've got a google document template set up, but when I select the output option of single file with page breaks, I get a blank page between each letter.  It's not an extra page break on the template, and my content fits well within a page when populated, so I'm thinking it could be some kind of issue with my browser?  (I'm using Chrome).  Any suggestions on how to resolve?

    We determined the error must be related to the version of Word that I have.  Thank you for the suggestions and follow-up!
