Design Trailblazers

Welcome Trailblazers! ✨ Whether you’re an admin, developer, or designer, we’re here to help you design and build with Salesforce Lightning Design 2 (Beta), the foundation of our agentic design system. This is your space to connect with fellow Trailblazers, ask questions, share your experiences, and collaborate on all things SLDS 2 (beta). So, what are you waiting for? Tell us how SLDS 2 is bringing your brand to life!

When on a page and the scroll bar is on the right you cannot see the pencil icon(edit) on the task bar so you can edit task bar. You have to go to a page where it does not have the scroll bar to see the edit icon. This only happens using SLDS 2

Hi! I've been looking forward to SLDS2 for ages, but I feel like I'm going batty trying to get it turned on.

I'm on a developer instance that I created late last year which, I believe, means I should have SLDS2 by default. But all of my record views (opportunities, accounts, etc) which use the standard lightning components, continue to reflect the SLDS1 styling. I don't see SLDS2 as an option anywhere in my Setup either, not even under Themes and Branding where it's supposed to be.

    Am I missing something?

Hi,

I want to test and understand the impact of the new UI changes. I'm on the Spring '25 Preview Sandbox with an Enterprise Edition org, but I don't see any option to enable it:

  • No option to add the SLDS2 theme under Themes and Branding
  • No option to turn on the enhanced Lightning user interface under User Interface

I heard it might be available by the end of February (possibly in Production). Is there any way to test this new theme in the org sooner?

    Hey @Michael DiMaio

Happy to hear you have the new theme running in sandbox and it looks great 🙌.

The Production gate is processing throughout the course of this week. If you're on version 254 in Prod, you should see SLDS (beta) available to activate in Prod by end of this week.

I am currently a UX/UI designer for elearning products and would like to transition to becoming a Salesforce UX designer. I am going through the recommended training, but was wondering how or if I can get access to the platform to practice??  My current organization does not have the platform.  Is there a student version available for practice and building a portfolio of projects?

I apologize if this is a basic question but the learning materials are quite comprehensive and I haven’t found answers with my looking around.

Thanks so much!

Hi everyone! I'm working on a design for a client which requires a user to select from a list of customer records to clone something to.

The List Builder  component seems like the way I'd like to do this since you can filter the results, and it shows you the number of items selected, however there is no built-in way to Select or Deselect All that I can see in the documentation. Does anyone know if there is an established way of handling this, or should I look for a different way of selecting a list of records?

The general flow goes something like this:

  • Salesforce User goes to a customer record page, within there is a custom page which has a list of "Catalogs" which is a custom object that contains a list of products.
  • What we want this user to be able to do is to select a catalog, then clone that catalog (including name and all the products) to other customers.
  • I was hoping to have a simple "Clone" button, which opens up the List Builder modal and the user can select which customers to clone to. However, there is a good chance that the user will want to clone to ALL customers, and there can be a lot of them. So having to manually check each one is not viable.

Hi, I am activating the new Salesforce UX, due to the fact that they enabled foundation for me.

  • I assigned myself the license for Started Pro and Starter All Apps.
  • Activated Enable an improved Lightning user interface
  • I assigned myself the Sales Starter App license

I don't know what else I'm missing but I still don't see the new interface.

Has this happened to anyone?

Hi all!

I work on a product that integrates directly into our clients' Salesforce instances. Because of this, there is a ton of flexibility on the clients end when it comes to where the admin places our components and custom pages. It's a fun and complex problem to solve.

My ask: I am slowly but surely moving our product into the look and feel of the new lightning components. I love the new light grey background and the removal of the header background colors to have the headers floating in the grey color. HOWEVER- I can't figure out how floating headers will look if our clients utilize custom brand colors for their backgrounds. Does anyone have any tips or on how to navigate this? Has anyone run into similar issues?

@Sasha Pollatsek I think you can use SLDS utilities like slds-background_color to add backgrounds to headers dynamically or slds-text-color for adjusting text color to improve contrast
