I am new to Salesforce and really want to get hands on experience in a dev org that I would be familiar with.

For example, I have worked in a schools district office for over 13 years and have lots of ideas for what I could do in a demo org.

Doing a demo org in Education Cloud though would limit me to just 30 days and I don’t think that is worth it.

I’ve never done this before so please forgive my naïveté. Is there a way to export enough from one demo org that I could somewhat keep working on it in a new org?

Or would I be better off just using a standard dev org and doing what I can with it. My goal is hands-on experience at this point.

I have a client who needs to track schools (Elementary, Middle and High) and the the Schools they feed in to. Normally, I would use an Account Hierarchy for this. However, some Middle schools feed in to two different high schools. How have other organizations handled this requirement?  

Hi all, we use the Experience Cloud Aura framework for a student portal. We want to create a community platform outside of the ootb options that would have to include some chat functionality that they can have amongst themselves and get answers from staff in pre-defined groups but also ones they would be able to request and have made for them for just fun. 

Ideally, I wanted this inside the Experience Cloud builder, but I was told such a thing doesn't exist, and Salesforce offers Slack for what I am looking for. Are there any other ways that Slack could be integrated into the experience cloud, though, like displaying highlighted messages there, the number of notifications, etc? 

I'm working on a Salesforce Community public page using Lightning Web Components, and I'm facing a challenge in accessing picklist values without requiring a user login. Specifically, I need to retrieve all picklist values that have been entered in Salesforce, even when users are not logged in to the Community. Is there a method or workaround to achieve this, ensuring that picklist values are accessible on the public page without the need for user authentication?

Hello everyone,

We are trying to load data to the personEducation object, which has a field lookup to account.

Now, once the accounts (person accounts ) are loaded, trying to load their respective person education records.

Tried using the workbench, Dataloader.Io, we don't see the accountId field to map, Checked for access also, the field has got edit,read and all required access.

Am I missing anything?

Hello, Education Trailblazers! I am currently leading a CRM transformation initiative at LeTourneau University for Recruiting, Admissions, and Marketing/Communications built on the new Education Cloud Einstein One with Account Engagement (fka Pardot). Parallel to this project, our institution is also implementing Ellucian Colleague SaaS as our ERP/Student Information System.

I'm currently looking for success stories from any institutions who use both a Salesforce product and an Ellucian product together (even if they aren't the specific ones I mentioned above). If so, would anyone be willing to share their approach to integrating the two systems together? We have a proposed approach we are considering, but I wanted to reach out to the education community here to make sure we are not reinventing the wheel and hopefully hear from folks who have done this successfully.

Wrapping Up the Commons Community Sprint in Chicago! 

@Lizzy Roberts and I were thrilled to host the last Sprint of 2024 in Chicago, connecting in-person for two days of brainstorming and creating impactful solutions for our Nonprofit and Education community using Salesforce.

➡️ A remarkable 60 attendees joined us, representing an array of Customer and Industry Partners working within the Nonprofit and Education and Salesforce ecosystems, including End Users, Administrators, Developers, and Architects from from the Chicago area, and from across North America representing 24 different states (!) and 5 Canadian provinces. Wow!

Thank you to everyone who joined and dedicated precious time away from their daily responsibilities - your commitment to sharing your skills made this event truly exceptional. Thank you for making our collective effort such a success.
