How can users export dashboard tables or lists as CSV/Excel in Tableau Next instead of downloading an image?

I’m building a dashboard in Tableau Next / web version and I need guidance on export options.

I understand that users can download a visualization as an image, but my use case is different. I need users to export the actual data from dashboard tables/lists, for example a filtered audience/contact list, as a data file such as CSV or Excel, not as an image.

Use case:

• The dashboard includes graphs and a details table.
• Users apply filters or select values in the dashboard.
• The details table should update based on the selected filters.
• Users should then be able to export that filtered table/list as CSV or Excel.
• The export should reflect the current filters/selections.
• Ideally, this should work from the Tableau Next web dashboard experience.

Questions:

1. Does Tableau Next currently support exporting dashboard table data as CSV or Excel?
2. Is there a “Download Data” or “Download Crosstab” equivalent in Tableau Next dashboards?
3. Does the user need to select the specific table/viz before exporting?
4. Are there permission settings that must be enabled for users to export data?
5. If CSV/Excel export is not currently supported in Tableau Next, what is the recommended workaround?
