I struggling with finding a solution acceptable for Sales Ops for a "Training Year" (TY), similar to the Fiscal Year (FY), with the goal of adding it a custom report on a Training Object and have "Current TY", "Previous TY", "Next TY", etc. fields based on Start (4/1) & End (3/31) dates for each year. These won't be broken up into quarters, we just need to know to which year a Training belongs. This would be similar to a report that's filtered in an Opty report on FY, the exact dates don't need to be stated as long as they're identified in Setup.
Sales Ops is currently having to set start and end dates for each Report and would like something more sustainable & succinct.
I found a solution to this issue & am willing to showcase this on Friday if asked. I created 3 formula checkbox fields that dynamically reference a date field to see if it lands in the Previous, Current or Next "Training Year" so it doesn't matter what year it is, it'll always populate the Current TY if it's this year.
