Hi there, I'd love to know if there is a way to automatically push datasource updates from published datasources on Server/Online to connected workbooks.
Example, currently I believe you have to manually edit every single workbook using a published datasource by navigating to each workbook, selecting to modified dimension or measure and selecting "replace references". Easy enough when there are only a couple of connected workbooks, but not when there could be hundreds......
Ideally, you'd never have to change a datasource, but I think we all know this isn't the case and over time terminology/syntax changes or more data needs to be added.
The published data source (PDS) abstracts the behind-the-scenes details so you could even change from one DB to another and keep the same PDS and the workbooks wouldn't have to be touched. So no, you can't batch change the data source in workbooks, but yes, you can push updates to them.
