I'm trying to track customer retention YOY. I followed this example null to create four categories for customers: New, Returning, One Time, Lost.
My question now is how do I track customer's movements from one category to another? For example, we want to be able to see how many who were new in 2015 were lost in 2017. Or in the picture below, how many of the 12% that was lost in 2017 was new in 2016 vs returning from 2015.
The problem is that each year, all the customers are kinda dumped back into the same pool and then their status is calculated based on if they spent or not.
