Hello all

Lately we are experiencing some issues with a dashboard on our Tableau server.

The following error pops up on the screen.

Request Rejected by Server

I can't find any solution in here, in the logs or on the web.

We are running Version 8.0.2 (Build 8000.13.0605.1330)

Can anyone help us out with this?

Thanks

    Giovanni,

I am currently working with a customer, regarding this same error message. If you are using Internet Explorer 9, or later, the following steps will help you to remove compatibility mode, which has been known to cause these error messages.

    Compatibility Mode settings for Tableau

Background:  In Internet Explorer (IE), many users' browsers are set to 'Compatibility Mode'.  This mode allows the current version of IE to work with sites that would normally break when viewed with later versions of IE.  Tableau sometimes struggles with Compatibility Mode and may cause error messages.

As such, Tableau recommends turning off Compatibility mode off using the following steps (total time to complete these steps is 1-2 minutes)

Close all open instances of Internet Explorer

    • Open a new instance of Internet Explorer
    • Click Tools then click Delete browsing history

Giovanni, I am currently working with a customer, regarding this same error message.

    • In the Delete Browsing History dialog box, tap or click the History check box, and then tap or click Delete

    • Tap or click Tools, and then tap or click Compatibility View settings

    • Clear the Display intranet sites in Compatibility View check box, clear the Include updated website lists from Microsoft check box, and then tap or click Close

    • Restart the system

Also, if a proxy exists, then the timeout settings may need to be increased, as some dashboards may take longer than the default setting to render.

    Hopefully this helps!
