I've been trying to use RServe within Tableau 8.1 and I'm receiving the following error:
The funny thing is, RServe used to work and it isn't for some reason. I haven't been able to find another post about this, and every post about this type of error talks about restarting servers and whatnot. I'm running Tableau Desktop 8.1 on my personal machine. Anyone have any ideas?

Do you see RServe.exe in Windows Task Manager - Processes ?
If so are you able to telnet on port 6311 ? If Rserve is running you should get a return
Rsrv0103QAP1
Also make sure it`s not blocked by Windows Firewall
