
I have a dashboard with a dashboard action filter set up, where I click on a chart in one tab and it filters another chart in a different, second tab. However the dropdown filter in the second tab still shows as "All" despite the action filtering.
I've read about solutions on the Tableau Forum but they aren't very clear to me. Since my data is proprietary, could someone post a straightforward solution to this issue - ideally with a workbook attached.

First of all, you can anonymize your workbook (and shrink the size of your data in the process) as shown here:

Asking someone else to create the workbook for you puts the burden of helping you on the person who is trying to help you.
Having said that, I think you can solve what you are describing.
In your target sheet, you'll see a filter that says ACTION(…). You can use that filter. Display it for the user. It will look and feel just like any other filter. And it will initially be set with the filter action value(s). Take the straight-up dimension filter off and use the action filter there.
