I have a workbook, created with the Tableau Public app, that has a lot of navigation buttons. When I publish it to my Tableau Public profile, all of the navigation buttons work except one. The one that doesn't work turns gray when published, and I get the error message "Access Denied: You don't have permission to view the linked content" when I click on it.

The issue is resolved if I do either of the following:

  • I have the button navigate to a different dashboard in the workbook.
  • I enable "Show Sheets" in settings after publishing.

However, I don't want it to navigate to a different dashboard, and I don't want to show the sheets. I don't know why only one button is affected. All of the other buttons work fine whether I show the sheets or not.

Thanks, in advance, for anybody's help!

@Peter Fakan thanks for your response. Why do I need to show the sheets for this one button? All of the other buttons work fine whether I show the sheets or not. Is there a way to fix this with tableau desktop and then publish it to tableau public?
