Hi everyone,

I’m seeking help with a breaking issue on a Tableau Public dashboard. We use the Data-Driven Parameter extension to allow users to select a "Topic" which then populates a second parameter for "Measures" used in our trend graphs.

Since December 2025 (or possibly before), the extension has stopped working. For guest users, the extension fails to trigger and the entire browser page freezes.

However, if a user signs into Tableau Public, the extension works perfectly.

Tableau Support mentioned this extension is no longer supported on Public. However, given that it works for signed-in users, we suspect a change in how Tableau Public handles extension permissions or timeouts for unauthenticated traffic.

Has anyone else seen this "freezing" behavior or confirmed a policy change?

Since we can't rely on the extension, we need to replicate this behavior natively. We need to:

When a guest user selects a topic, a new list of measures will appear and users can choose the measure they want. We want to ensure the measure list is dynamic based on the selection of topics.

I’m looking for the best way to do this. If you’ve successfully modified/ replaced this extension recently, I’d love to see your logic! Thank you so much!!

Attached is the screenshot of the issue.
