Trying to export a report of opportunity history and include opportunity record type in a column. The export is showing a value of 'locked for editing'. My question is how to get around this issue. Is this something that can be configured by permissions?

I have run and exported Opportunity History Reports that include the Opportunity Record Type field without any problem.
Are you trying to add the Opportunity Record Type field to an existing report that someone else created?
Did you try using the "Save As" button to create a copy of the exisitng report so that you have your own report that you "own" and can Edit as needed?
