My last company used Yammer, where routinely some important posts required more than 1000 words. Why does Chatter have such a short limit. How can I give them feedback and ask them to raise it ?

    You should contact your Salesforce Account Executive (AE) to discuss increasing the character limit. If that doesn't help, you could visit Ideas where the community post and vote on ideas for improvements that Salesforce uses to prioritze new feature requests and enhancements.
