We are at 103% of our data storage (3% over the limit).  I'm working on determining what we want to do as a company - buy more data storage or archive/delete - but until it's decided I would like to know at what point are we going to run into a hard limit that will prevent us from adding or modifying any objects (leads, accounts, etc.).  Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks!

    Hi David,

I ran into a similar problem at my last job except that our data was 281% (the actual limit). I had to delete over 1,000,000 records to get us down under the threshold. What happened in our case was that our AE gave us until our contract was up for renewal to clean it up. if I hadn't cleaned up it, it would have cost us $5100 (and we had increased the limit previously)

My suggestion would be to decide if you need all of that data. In our case, they were marketing emails that spanned all the way back to 2007. We decided that we only needed emails for the past six months and I wiped the rest. You may need to change your data storage practice or you could export a specific amount of data that you don't necessarily report on, but want to keep, put the export on a shared network, and delete the data in SF. You have a few options. I hope that helps.
