Merge BPMN Documents With MuleSoft RPA Recorder Editor
Learning Objectives
After completing this unit, you’ll be able to:
- Merge a BPMN file with another one using the MuleSoft RPA Recorder editor.
- Explain how to publish the final version of the RPA process design and move the process to the Build phase.
Merge BPMN Design Documents
Now that you have the detailed requirements captured by MuleSoft RPA Recorder, you can combine this with the original high-level sketch of the RPA process to enhance it. The following are examples of enhancements.
- Remove tasks from the original BPMN design.
- Copy/paste user requirement details from the recorder activities back to the original design.
- Break and delete routes. Connect new routes between the original BPMN design and the MuleSoft RPA Recorder-generated BPMN design.
- Take different screenshots or change the captured keystrokes for permutations that the recording didn’t consider.
The important thing to remember is that the RPA Recorder helps speed up implementation, but may not automatically create the complete implementation. The amount of customization needed also varies between use cases.
Use Editor Components to Help Merge RPA Process BPMN Documents
The BPMN editors in MuleSoft RPA Manager and in MuleSoft RPA Recorder editor have the same components to make it easy to organize and refactor your BPMN documents. Ensure you make space for the content that is going to be imported. Then click Load file to complete the import process. Recall that creating a BPMN file is as simple as clicking the Edit, Merge, and Upload Recordings icons. When you’ve enhanced the merged BPMN files and are satisfied with the result, you’re ready to transition this RPA process from the Design phase to the Build phase. Do this by clicking Publish. In the dialog box that appears, confirm that you want to proceed and click Release to Build. The project has now moved to the Build phase.
