Salesforce introduced a ton of great feature enhancements over the past year. Let’s take a look at some of the more important ones for this release.
Engage More with Customers by Using Messaging for In-App and Web
Improve customer service by connecting customers to a live session with a support agent via chats. Customers can use messaging to request a Visual Remote Assistant call and save time by providing contact information and other details before the remote session.
- No app download or additional software is required.
- Customers launch a visual session in a mobile web browser by clicking a link sent to them via SMS, email, or in a digital communications platform message.
- Visual Remote Assistant lets a contact center agent see what the customer sees via video session.
- Visual sessions imagery is retained and becomes an integral part of the company’s customer journey assets.
Where: This feature is available in Lightning Experience in Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer editions.
Manage and Release Changes with DevOps Center
Manage your changes and releases with the DevOps Center point-and-click interface, directly from the source control system, or a combination of both. Under the hood, Salesforce manages the source control branches so developers and builders can focus on development tasks.
Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience in Developer, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited editions. DevOps Center hasn’t been tested and isn’t recommended for enablement in Government Cloud and Government Cloud Plus.
Who: DevOps Center is available to all customers and can be enabled from the Setup menu. To use DevOps Center, add team members as users in the org in which DevOps Center is installed. Users also require a GitHub account and access to their team’s GitHub repository.
Why: Unlike change sets where you manually track your changes, changes are captured in a source control system. Say goodbye to spreadsheets—you now have a single source of truth for configuration and code, which improves collaboration across all functions: admins, developers, release managers, QA, and other business stakeholders.
How: Enable DevOps Center in the org in which you plan to install DevOps Center, accept the license agreement, and then install the managed package. From Setup, enter DevOps Center
in the Quick Find box, then select DevOps Center.
If you’re currently using the DevOps Center beta, the upgrade will push to your org automatically. However, if you don’t want to wait, you can go ahead and install it immediately from the DevOps Center Setup page.
Migrate to Hyperforce with Hyperforce Assistant
You can now upgrade to Hyperforce with help from Hyperforce Assistant. The updated assistant has the latest approved Hyperforce messaging. And the hard-coded references check in the Prepare phase now supports Salesforce Orgs with a large number of Apex classes.
Where: Hyperforce Assistant is available in Lightning Experience and Salesforce Classic in all editions.
How: After you schedule your upgrade, you’re prompted to launch the assistant. If you don’t see the prompt but are scheduled for a mass org migration (MOM), manually launch the assistant. From Setup, in the Quick Find Box, enter Hyperforce Assistant
and then select Hyperforce Assistant.
View Knowledge Articles in LWR Sites with the Knowledge Article Component
With the new Knowledge Article component, site visitors can view knowledge articles from their LWR sites. Help users self-serve and find solutions. Previously, the Knowledge Article component was available only in Aura sites.
Where: This change applies to LWR sites accessed through Lightning Experience and Salesforce Classic in Enterprise, Professional, Unlimited, and Developer editions.
