I'm currently one of 3 Server Admins for our Tableau Server v. 2018.2.2.
We'd like to publish some proprietary information, but not all of the admins have the appropriate DUAs (Data Use Agreements).
Is it possible to exclude Server Admins from specific sites or projects, or do they (by default) have carte blanche viewing rights?
I thought I might be able to create a group of admins to exclude, then deny that group visibility, but I don't think that will override Admin super powers.
I found it unusual that I was not even listed as a user in a particular locked site, yet I could still view details therein.
Please let me know any thoughts or direct me appropriately, bearing in mind we are using a slightly older version of Server (2018.2).
Thank you, and happy vizzing! --Michael
I think I found my answer...
Administrator site roles: Users who have the Server Administrator (Tableau Server only) site role, the Site Administrator Creator site role, or the Site Administrator Explorer site role can access all site content with full permissions, regardless of the permissions set on projects or individual content assets.
Other thoughts?
