Hiding Dashboard Content on Tableau Mobile

I wanted to share this simple solution to a request for tighter security on specific dashboards on Tableau Mobile from my organization.

In certain cases, you may want to restrict users from seeing specific Tableau dashboards on their mobile devices for security reasons. These dashboards should only be visible when Tableau is being accessed from a computer.

We can do this by setting up a Phone and Tablet layout on the dashboards.

• Edit the Phone and Tablet layouts by adding a floating Text Box stretched to the full size of the Phone/Tablet screen with the phrase "This report is not available on mobile/tablet devices. Please access it on your computer."
• Set a background color for the Text Box and it will hide all charts on the dashboard if the dashboard is being accessed on a phone or tablet.
