Google Analytics Dimension "Device Category" that should return: "desktop", "tablet" or "mobile" does not work properly. It returns only, "tablet" or "mobile" but does not return any value "desktop".
I tried with multiple g analytics accounts or web properties but it does not work.
In Google Analytics Query Explorer 2 (http://ga-dev-tools.appspot.com/explorer/), with the same accounts, web properties and range of dates that I use in Tableau, the ga: deviceCategory dimensions (metrics: ga: sessions) working properly, and it returns three values: "desktop", "tablet" or "mobile".
This is exactly the same problem I'm running into. I tried exploring the sampling-related questions on here, but they don't really address why "desktop" never shows up under Device Category.
