Visible Lines setting still only displaying 3 lines on page layouts

Hi there,    I've got a "Long Text Area" field and have updated ⌗ Visible Lines for that field from 3 to 10.    Page Layout still only shows 3 lines when editing the same field.    How can I get Page Layout to correctly show the set # visible lines when editing the field?    Thank you
