How Salesforce can support Hindi, Do we need to use external APIs ? As translation workbench has limited language support.

It is mostly regarding showing the Hindi contents over page these contents can be dynamic in nature. But for read-only purpose.

Yes , it supports but limited. you need to enable platform only languages

Setup | Administer | Company Profile | Language Settings.

From Language Preferences, select Enable Platform Only Languages:

Users who want to extend the limitations of the translation workbench usually add a layer of translation intelligence and Hindi is ofcourse supported.
