We are doing a signficant change to the data structure in our org and as a result we are needing to mass create new accounts and link existing opportunities, contacts, etc. to those new accounts. We believe the simplest way is to create new account records and drop the old account id as a custom field. We then pull those old account ids, join them on accountid from the opportunity object and update the opportunity accountid to the new accountid. I am using the Alteryx tool to do this (we have no Salesforce developer experience in our org). I am passing the opportunity id as the desired accountid to be updated, but on the front end the opportunity is still linked to the old account, not the desired account. Is there a way to do what i am asking either through the Data Loader or Alteryx tool? Or any other workarounds that people with very little Admin experience and no developer experience can accomplish?
