Hi Everyone,

I am helping an org. configure their Salesforce for their commercial team and I am hoping to get some suggestions/best practices for the following scenario:

The team of staff members handle large construction loans that are drawn down across an extended period of time (for example, initial loan in May, then a following in August and another in November - but all part of the same loan). The organization wants to have accurate pipeline reporting, but does not want to force users to have to create an opportunity for each installment.

The manager of this team suggested creating one opportunity with multiple products, however I pointed out that this would be limiting as there would only be one opportunity stage (and therefore probably %) representing every product entry, regardless of whether they have already passed or are still upcoming.

I am not very familiar with opportunity scheduling and have not actually implemented it in practice, but that is what my first instinct is to look into. Has anyone handled a similar situation with the orgs they work in/work on? Do you have any recommendations on how I should proceed?

Thanks in advance. Any and all help is very much appreciated.
