Organize SF1/Chatter

Hi- A lot of our users are having a hard time finding what they need, and we don't want to put every tab on their main menu/SF1 navigation menu.  How difficult would it be to create a VF page (accessible by a nav menu tab) that displays:

 

Links to forms to complete

 

Links to suggested groups

 

Ex: We currently have an Extranet (we're replacing w/ SF) and it has all of the forms, documents, "Community Announcements" etc separated by Dept (ie. MedEd, Customer Care, etc)

    How do I modify the “home page/sidebar component“ for SalesForce1 Users though? The majority of our users don’t log into SF on the browser. They use SF1!
