Is it possible to make custom fields for showing additional last gift details Contact records?

Question

Since Salesforce doesn't have a way of generating mass mail merges from Opportunities, I need to automatically add Opportunity info to Contact records such that last gift campaign, last gift payment method, and last gift check date can be pulled from Contact records for mass mail merge letters. I tried creating a custom Contact field with a text formula but couldn't find any Opportunity fields in the field lookup. Any suggestions?
