Get Visit Recommendations from Salesforce Maps

Why Salesforce Maps?

Salesforce Maps and its related products help sales managers and field reps optimize routes for in-person visits, design sales territories, and improve sales efficacy. Field reps like Chantelle can plan for customer visits safely while spending less time on the road and more time building relationships. And sales managers like Gustavo can design sales and service territories that integrate with Salesforce systems and external ones.

Salesforce Maps is a multicloud app that brings location intelligence technology and the following capabilities. 

  • Visualizing data
  • Planning territory
  • Tracking live locations
  • Optimizing routes and schedules

Visualization is a key strength of Salesforce Maps. The map interface helps you better understand hard-to-find data so you can make location-driven decisions that drive productivity. With Salesforce Maps, there’s no more wasted hours spent planning the best sales route to travel and no more unnecessary driving across town. 

Use Salesforce Maps for Field Sales

For field sales reps, every customer meeting is a potential new opportunity. As a sales manager, Gustavo wants his team to spend more time with customers and less time in planning, traveling, and logging calls.

Sales teams are always looking for ways to automate the sales process, improve territory mapping, increase lead generation, and increase sales. Salesforce Maps supports each of these business goals. Here’s how.

  • Increase sales
    • Geographically visualize data with Salesforce Maps to identify clustered customers, and plan sales routes based on travel time and distance of each customer.
    • Use Salesforce Maps on mobile devices to help find nearby accounts and fill gaps due to last-minute cancellations.
    • Visualize travel paths for scheduled meetings and add meetings based on proximity to existing meetings.
  • Improve territory mapping
    • Get a real-time view of customers, team activities, and performance metrics.
    • Create, assign, and balance territories based on key business metrics like accounts and opportunities per field rep.
    • Use territory visualization to make smart decisions about marketing campaigns that help generate revenue.
  • Boost lead generation
    • Use the Google search engine, business data, or property data to search for nearby businesses and add them to the org.
  • Automate the sales process
    • Spend less time on administrative tasks by quickly updating records, creating events, checking-in or out of appointments, and more, all directly from the Salesforce Maps interface.

Get Visit Recommendations from Salesforce Maps

The Layers feature in Salesforce Maps enables you to review the stores you want visit recommendations for. Here’s how Gustavo uses Salesforce Maps to get visit recommendations for Chantelle. 

  1. Click App Launcher, and then find and select Maps.
  2. Click Layers, and then click ON THE MAP.
  3. Review and note down the stores in your territory for which you want to get visit recommendations.

  4. Click App Launcher, and then find and select AI Visit Recommendation Requests.
  5. Click New.
  6. Enter the details for the stores you want to get visit recommendations for. Gustavo enters the following details.
    • Description: NTO Bryant Street Store Recommendation Request.
    • Start Date and End Date: Gustavo wants recommendations for the third week of September and enters the relevant dates.
    • Recommendation Strategy: Flow and NTO Bryant Store Visit Recommendation Flow.
    • Visit Site Type: Retail Store.
    • Number of Visits per day: 5.
  7. Click Next.
  8. Select the retail stores you want recommendations for. Gustavo selects all the available NTO stores in the area.
  9. Click Save.
  10. Review the recommendations on the AI Visit Recommendations page.
  11. To schedule a visit, select the recommendation and click the dropdown arrow. Gustavo selects the recommendation for the store NTO Store - Bryant Street.
  12. Select Schedule from the dropdown menu for the recommendation. To schedule multiple visits, select the recommendations and click Schedule All.

Now that Gustavo has scheduled store visits for Chantelle, he wonders what tasks she must prioritize in each of these visits. In the next unit, we follow along as he requests task recommendations for Chantelle and schedules the tasks for her visits.
