Salesforce introduced great feature enhancements over the past year. Take a look at some of the more important ones.

Improve Performance with Level-Based Item Retrieval in the Configuration Cart

Managing large bundles in Salesforce CPQ is now faster and more efficient, thanks to the new Level-Based Item Retrieval feature in the Enterprise Sales Management (ESM) configuration cart. Instead of loading all bundle items at once, the system now retrieves items one level at a time. This smarter approach brings several key benefits.

  • Faster configuration: Say goodbye to long load times when opening complex bundles.
  • Fewer errors: Working with smaller sets of data reduces the risk of mistakes.
  • Simpler navigation: Viewing and configuring one level at a time makes it easier to manage even the most complex bundles.

This feature is available to all users with access to the Enterprise Sales Management configuration cart in Lightning Experience on Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions.

Configure and Price Bundles for Anonymous Users

With the new Digital Commerce (DC) API—Preview Offers API—anonymous B2C users can now configure and price product bundles without needing to add them to a cart, simplifying how customers explore and compare products online. The API also supports advanced pricing models, including usage-based and attribute-based pricing.

This update is fully accessible to anonymous B2C users and available in all editions where the Communications, Media, and Energy (CME) managed package is installed and Digital Commerce APIs are enabled. It unlocks a faster, more frictionless browsing experience by offering:

  • Advanced pricing support: Now users get unit-based pricing (UBP), attribute-based pricing (ABP), and business rules engine (BRE).
  • Detailed pricing breakdowns: Users can see a “price waterfall” view for clear comparisons.
  • Less custom code: Out-of-the-box support for anonymous user pricing cuts down on development time.

Since the Preview Offers API is a new API endpoint, customers using DC APIs must run the Load API Metadata job. Perform these steps to ensure all API metadata customizations remain intact. If you're already using DC APIs:

  • Back up your customizations.
  • Run the Load API Metadata job to sync new resources.
  • Restore your customizations if needed.

This ensures a smooth transition to the new API without losing your existing configurations.

Create Budgetary Quotes with Einstein Conversational AI

Sales teams often struggle with the first conversation, especially when it comes to generating a budgetary quote quickly. With Einstein Quick Quote, reps can use AI-generated prompts that help them ask the right questions about a customer’s business scope, budget constraints, security requirements, future plans, and more.

This isn’t just a productivity tool—it’s a confidence booster. Reps don’t have to start from scratch or rely solely on product knowledge. Instead, Einstein acts as a pre-sales assistant, ensuring consistency, reducing guesswork, and helping teams deliver value from the very first interaction.

Einstein Quick Quote is available in Lightning Experience for orgs using Enterprise Sales Management on these editions.

  • Enterprise
  • Performance
  • Unlimited
  • Developer

To use Einstein Quick Quote, you need licenses for Enterprise Sales Management, Einstein Platform Starter or Plus, and user licenses for Einstein for Sales and Einstein for Service.

Apply Discounts to an Entire Cart with Large Sets of Quote Line Items

Handling quotes with tens of thousands of line items? Salesforce Industries CPQ now supports bulk discounting for large quote volumes, making it easier for sales teams to manage high-scale quoting with speed and precision.

When Globally Unique Identifiers (GUIDs) performance enhancements are enabled, you can apply discounts to up to 50,000 quote line items. Without those enhancements, that number increases to 100,000 line items. In addition to UI-based bulk actions, enhanced API services let you manage pricing adjustments—including discounts—for 20,000+ quote lines programmatically, streamlining automation for enterprise-level quoting.

This isn’t just about speed. It’s about empowering your sales team to work smarter. Reps can filter and group subsets of quote line items, apply mass discounts directly in the cart, and save configurations for reuse. That means less manual work, faster quoting cycles, and a smoother path to closing deals.

This enhancement is available in all Salesforce orgs where the Communications, Media, and Energy (CME) managed package is installed.

Boost Efficiency with Industries CPQ in the Lightning Web Components Interface

Salesforce Industries CPQ now supports a modern Lightning Web Components (LWC) interface, delivering faster performance and a more intuitive user experience. This new interface streamlines product configuration and cart functionalities, while also enabling:

  • Faster load times: Enhanced performance reduces delays when configuring products or modifying carts.
  • Modern, intuitive UI: Makes it easier for sales reps to navigate complex product catalogs.
  • Advanced cart functionality: Includes multiple price views, product catalogs, promotions, and discounts—all accessible directly from the cart.
  • Greater flexibility: CPQ operations can now be performed on mobile tablets, supporting productivity in the field.

It’s available in all Salesforce orgs where the Communications, Media, and Energy (CME) managed package is installed. By adopting the LWC interface, your team can deliver a faster, more responsive quoting experience—whether in the office or out in the field.

Optimize Resource Usage by Easily Moving Assets

Sales reps can now relocate customer assets to a new address using designated connect and disconnect dates, improving the accuracy and efficiency of move management. During the move, they can also validate the address and check serviceability to ensure asset eligibility. This feature is available in Lightning Experience for Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions with Enterprise Sales Management.

Undo Asset Changes During MACD Operations

Mistakes happen, but now your sales reps have more control when they do. With the new Undo functionality in Enterprise Sales Management (ESM), reps can roll back changes made to individual assets during Move, Add, Change, Delete (MACD) operations. Whether it’s a pricing update or a change to product attributes, assets can be restored to their original state directly from the working cart. This feature works at both the root and child product levels, offering flexibility and precision during complex quoting scenarios.

Disconnected line items can also be restored either in the working cart or from the summary tab. While there are a few exceptions to the undo workflow, this enhancement significantly reduces the risk of errors during MACD processes and speeds up corrections—making the quoting experience more efficient and intuitive. This feature is available in Lightning Experience for Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions with Enterprise Sales Management.

Conclusion

Now you know about some powerful updates that make Salesforce Industries CPQ smarter, faster, and easier to use. With Level-Based Item Retrieval, working with large bundles feels lighter—no more waiting for everything to load at once. The new Preview Offers API gives anonymous users a smooth, no-login way to price bundles, making digital commerce more accessible. Einstein is here to boost your confidence from the first conversation, helping you build better quotes, faster. And if you’re dealing with massive quotes, bulk discounting has your back—up to 100,000 lines strong!

The experience gets even better with the Industries CPQ Lightning Web Components interface. It’s sleek, responsive, and mobile-friendly—perfect for working on the go. Plus, new tools for moving assets and undoing changes during MACD operations give you more flexibility and control where it counts.

These updates aren’t just about keeping your certification current—they’re about making your day-to-day work smoother and more impactful. So go ahead—quote smarter, move faster, and make every deal a win.
