Hi,

I'm new to salesforce and I'm having hard time importing contacts from an Excel file. I kind of need a short summary of what the Excel file should look like in order for it to be eligible for the upload. All the attempts so far resulted in this message: 'The file you uploaded does not meet the requirements for the encoding you specified. The file may be in a different encoding or may be corrupt.'

    Hi Steve,

     

    Thanks for your reply. I have a few more questions about this case. What I'm trying to do here is importing a list of people with their phone numbers, companies and addresses into the salesforce directory of my account. Now those people may not necesseraily have a salesforce account. One of the columns in the excel sheet required is the account number of a contact. I don't have those at all. What do I do? I would allow you to take control over my computer so you could see what I mean, if I failed to be comprehensive.
