Visualforce not available in Page Layout Editor in a Managed Package

Question

Hi all,

We're pretty new to Salesforce and we have developed a basic managed package. The problem we are having is that people who are testing it can't see our Visualforce page thats included with the package in the Page Layout Editor.

The page is definately there and it can be called directly in the URL. Its just not visible in the Page Layout Editor.

Am I doing something wrong?

You need to add those Users to a Permission Set (preferrable) or a Profile that gives them access to the Visual Force page plus any objects and Apex classes in your package.

Make sure that you are using the Standard Controller with an extension (if needed)...for example the first line of your page could look like this:    <apex:page standardController="Account" extensions="YOUR APEX CLASS">   If you are not referring to the objects standard controller, I don't believe the page can be embedded in a Page Layout.     You can refer to this page (by Jeff Douglas) for a detailed example ( http://blog.jeffdouglas.com/2009/05/08/inline-visualforce-pages-with-standard-page-layouts/ )
