I tried a sample, where I did select the check box to "update existing records", and it wiped out all of the other data and kept only the imported info.  Does the update feature not work?

    Yes,  using the Import Accounts/Contact in the setup menu.

     

    I used the first and last names to identify the records.  Did not map any other fields other than the one I wanted to update.

     

    Maybe I need to use only the SF ID field, instead of the names?
