Meet Candace Evans. She’s a sales rep at Cloud Kicks, a company that makes stylish and comfortable sneakers designed and personalized for customers. She directs the company's sales activities and works with the Salesforce administrator to improve the sales process.

The Solution

With OmniStudio Document Generation, you can create and maintain dynamic and crisp business-critical digital documents like contracts, proposals, quotes, and invoices. Using predefined, customized templates, Candace can create documents with speed, precision, consistency, and accuracy.

OmniStudio Document Generation merges text-based files, such as Microsoft Word or PowerPoint, with other data sources to create the documents. And it supports both on-demand and batch capabilities for Salesforce industry use cases. The available output formats include .docx, .pptx, and .pdf.

Let’s take a look at the OmniStudio Document Generation application. Here’s a screen capture of a Quote record for the Acme account, from which you can generate different types of documents.

To create a quote document, Candace selects Generate Document (1) from the quote record. The process creates a customized document depending on the output format Candace chooses. She then finds the new document in the Notes and Attachments section (2).
