Opportunity Record Type - Mandatory?

Hi SF Community,

I'm looking to make my opportunity record type required but however when I try to go into page layout it only allows it to be a read only field. How can I make that field required on an opportunity before saving it?

    Hi Jeff

     

    I have the same question as Drew, but very little experience with validation rules. We have two different opp record types, and we dont want that field to be blank when saving the opportunity. Do you have an example of how such a rule would look like?
