Trigger workflow on Specific Day

I'd like to trigger a workflow every 5th of the month.  Can I do this in the workflow rule?  If not, how can I update a date field on the contact record so it updates every day with TODAY().  I can use that to set the workflow criteria to only trigger if: DAY(of that custom field).

 

Thoughts?

    My sincerest apologies- we marked this Idea as "Coming in the Next Release" for Spring 15 in error. This feature is not slated for the current release, but we are targeting it for delivery in a future release as part of a series of enhancements to the Process Builder (safe harbor applies).

    I don't have a firm date fo share at this point, but it will be a few releases out. I will post more once I have a more solid timeframe to share. I apologize for any frustration/confusion this may have caused.
