Prework and Notes

  • Enter all labels exactly as described in the instructions. Labels are case-sensitive and spelling counts.

  • When possible, copy and paste the label names from superbadge instructions instead of typing them.

  • If label names are not specified, you can use any name you choose; this applies to some Assignment elements and formulas.

  • Superbadge units focus on very specific objectives; some best practices or typical approaches might not be required in the challenges. For example, activating a flow is an important step; activation is only included in the Flow Administration Superbadge Unit and is not checked in other units.

  • Make sure you save your work before running the challenge check.

  • Ensure that you don’t create duplicate records, labels, permission sets, and so on, as part of any challenge.

  • Build your solution according to the requirements; adding more actions or steps can cause challenge checks to fail.

Use Case

This fiscal quarter, Dreamscape Bookshops is focusing on cleaning up system configuration and optimizing automations. As a customer and new Salesforce admin for Dreamscape, you’re ready for the challenge. Review Dreamscape’s automation requirements and identify ways to streamline the team’s work.

Business Requirements

The Dreamscape team created a screen flow named Create a New Case to quickly enter information about a customer and allow incident logging. The result of the flow is a new case record associated to the reader’s contact record. Any team member can access the flow to enter reader information, which is very helpful. Very few team members have access to the Case object—and it needs to stay that way. Your first job is to adjust the Create a New Case flow so that any user can create new case records, without making any changes to the existing record security or record access settings.

As you work on the Create a New Case flow, you notice that it’s a bit messy and could be easier to work with. You’ve heard that there’s a setting that ensures Flow Builder automatically creates and deletes connectors when elements are added or deleted. Adjust the existing flow to deliver this feature.

You’ve been working on a proof of concept to automate new processes. You’re currently working with a test flow called Update Hidden Checkbox. This automation is setting the stage for an app Dreamscape has considered. The team has recently decided to go in a different direction. Deactivate the current version of the Update Hidden Checkbox flow and reactivate the original version of the flow.

A savvy reader has identified an issue with the VIP discount functionality. Currently, the VIP Discount flow runs before VIP points are awarded from the VIPCheckboxAdd100 flow. Adjust the automation to apply the appropriate discount, making sure the automation that adds points runs before the flow that adjusts the VIP discount.

You continue to review the existing automations for ways to optimize the Dreamscape system. In your review, you notice that flow exception emails are not sent to the right set of users. Adjust system settings so that all Apex Exception Email Recipients receive any process or flow error emails.
