Hi,
Question on a dashboard filter action. What I’m trying to do is allow the user to select a main organization and the select 3 others to compare. That all works great and allows them to swap sheets for the type of metric. Now I wanted to give the option to reset all the organization filters using a filter action. Ideally when the Reset Filters X is clicked, the first organization is shown for each (or a note that says something like ‘select an org to compare’). So the view would look like four of the same orgs are showing.
The filter action is set up in the attached workbook. It’s all dummy data with made up organizations. The action is set to exclude all data, but it still defaults to All orgs which makes the view wacky. Even by removing the show ‘All’ value under customized, it still shows all orgs on the reset. And since the real data has coalitions with hundreds of organizations to compare against, it gets exceptionally wacky.
Is there a way to make the Reset Filter button reset to the first organization or a page that says to select an organization?
It is tough, Looks like you can reset them all to blank values or to All as you are doing, but can't force to go to first value as default. But there are workarounds to push a fresh set of values into picture to replace existing ones on reset action using sheet swapping , and come back on another click, but again tedious. Let's wait for others.
