How can I edit the assign using active assignment rules field

When creating a new case we have the option to auto assign the engineer/queue, the rules are set up and work fine if we remember to check the box. I want to change the box to be checked as default. I cant find it in any of the case page layouts. Any ideas?

    Hey Mary,

     

    Go--Setup--Customize--Case--Pagelayout--Edit the pagelayout--Click on "Layout properties" button ,You will find it to customize your need: as shown below:-
